Our Mission
What We Do:
Putting God's love into action in Marion County by
strengthening communities, building hope, and providing dignified housing solutions through partnership and empowerment.
"Habitat is now 30 years old in Marion County. We not only build homes, but also we build confidence, security and safety for those in need in our community in the form of decent affordable housing".
The ultimate goal of Habitat for Humanity is to eliminate substandard housing in Marion County by constructing decent and affordable homes for those families that wish to partner with us in this effort. In an effort to keep all the homes we provide to families affordable for many years, we have formed a Community Land Trust that will lease the land to the homeowner. Should they desire to sell the home, the land trust has the option to purchase it and sell it to another Habitat family at an affordable price. Furthermore, all our words and actions. are for the ultimate purpose of putting shelter on the hearts and minds of people in such a powerful way that substandard housing becomes socially, politically, and religiously unacceptable in our country and around the world.
Latest Project:
HFHMC is in the process of building a Strawberry House for a future homeowner. The proceeds from our Strawberry Festival go towards the completion of our Strawberry House.
The 2020 Strawberry Festival will be held on March 7th at The Mcpherson Complex in Ocala. For more info, call us at (352) 351-4663.
