Need: To demonstrate Need, your family must currently be living in inadequate housing (unsafe, overcrowded, or substandard - roof leaks, plumbing problems, etc.)

Residency: In order to qualify for homeownership through our program, you must have lived in Marion County for at the last 12 months and be a permanent legal resident of the United States.

Ability: You must have a steady source of income, be able to demonstrate financial responsibility and be willing to invest a minimum of 500 hours of your family's time in helping to build your home. You or your spouse must not own property

Income: To qualify , your annual gross family income should be within these guidelines:

Credit:

 Your Family must have and maintain good credit. We will check you history through a credit bureau report.

 You or your spouse must not have declared bankruptcy or had a foreclosure within the past three years. (Three years from discharge date if bankruptcy has been declared.)

 You or your spouse must not have received "Down Payment & Closing Cost" funds from the City of Ocala or Marion County SHIP Program.

 There must not be any judgments or liens against you or your spouse.


Documentation:
If you are ready to apply for housing, you must bring the following documentation with you to your meeting with the Family Services Staff:

 Copies of the last 4 payroll stubs for all members of the household that work

 Copies of proof of Social Security, VA Compensation, Child Support, or food stamps. (ALL INCOME SOURCES)

 Rent receipts or lease documents

 List of all debts, balances & monthly payments

 Letter regarding why you need to own a Habitat for Humanity home
