Site Selection – Help to search for available land that can be donated or purchased at a reasonable price.
Family Selection – Assist with future Homeowner Orientation meetings, make home visits and select families with whom Habitat homes will be built.
Family Support – Mentor future homeowners through the sweat equity program by assisting at group meetings; provide encouragement and prayer. Be a liaison between the family and the office.
Volunteer Relations - Assist the Volunteer Coordinator with recruitment of volunteers for the affiliate. Assist with appreciation luncheons and other related functions.
Church Relations – Seek to make connections with and encourage the faith community to partner with Habitat for Humanity by becoming involved in its ministry and mission.
Office Angel – Greet visitors and clients, answer multi-line phone system, route calls, take messages, photocopy, file, assist staff with special projects such as mailings.
Special Events – Assist staff with planning special events, annual meetings, recognition events and luncheons.
Fund Raising – Utilize your skills to assist in helping raise funds for future Habitat projects. Organize fundraisers at your church or club.
Public Relations – Promote the purpose of Habitat for Humanity through the use of media, brochures, public speakers, and newsletters.
Bulk Mailing Helper – Assist in preparing bulk mailings. This will include the newsletter, special appeals and other large mailings.
Site Registration – Arrive early to set up the at the work site(s). Assure all volunteers sign in and out. Set up the table for lunch.
Construction site volunteers – Assisting in all phases of construction. Skilled and unskilled workers are appreciated greatly. (Join us to learn some new skills, training available).
HomeStore and Ye Olde Thrift Shoppe – Work in our retail shops. A chance to use your creativity! We have two stores, one in Ocala and one in Dunnellon for you to volunteer your time. We need help pricing, sorting, and merchandising the stores. Friendly faces are always welcome.
